The Box Paintings – Prints on Successive Layers of Plexiglass

The Box Paintings fill volumes with form and color. In contrast to the other 3D work, they are physical manifestations of a largely digital process. Painted digitally on a tablet, visual layers are then printed on individual sheets of rigid plexiglass and boxed in a dust-free environment to protect them from the elements. Brush strokes float in mid-air to fill the space with visual events, straddling the middle ground between image and object, painting and sculpture.

SIZES

Because the pieces are prints, they may be made in virtually any size from 14” x 16” x 4” table pieces to 48” x 64” x 24” freestanding or wall-hung large-scale pieces.
